Trombin ( bahasa Inggris : Thrombin, [ 1 ] Factor II, FII ) adalah sejenis glikoprotein yang dibentuk oleh dan disimpan dalam hati . Sekresi protrombin ke dalam plasma darah terjadi karena stimulasi dari dan ion kalsium pada proses koagulasi. [ 2 ] Dalam proses tersebut, protrombin kemudian dikonversi menjadi trombin [ 3 ] oleh protrombinase . [ 4 ] Lebih lanjut, trombin akan mengkonversi fibrinogen menjadi fibrin . [ 4 ]
